My Kitchen Is Soooooo Boring
Your best friend is taking interior design classes and offered to draw up the plans. Okay, you’re tired of looking at the same kitchen space every day. Blah. Here are five things you can do to fix up your boring kitchen.
Five Ways to Fix up your Boring Kitchen
Color
Maybe you’re recovering from the pristine white kitchen. While the clean bright look worked for you for many years, it’s time to pop with some color. Areas to consider are the backsplash, cabinets, or even creating some contrast with countertops.
Stainless Steel gets boring
What about using some different types of metals on your faucets? There’s chrome or brass and mixing it up can add some interest to the mundane matching of stainless steel for everything.
Flooring
What about moving to a different type of flooring? Tile can add texture and color. And if you’re on a budget, you can always add in some colorful floor rugs to accent.
Kitchen Faucet
While still functional, a new kitchen faucet can add a spark to your kitchen. Maybe it’s a pull-down single handle or a modern design with sharper angles. Or a pot-filler for pasta night.
Lighting
Maybe you want to compliment your recessed lighting with some dropdowns over the kitchen island. This can break up space visually and also add some practicality, serving as either task lights or mood lighting for an eating area around the island.
